OUR MISSION
Our mission is to equip young people with the necessary tools to become the best version of themselves. We aim to raise and donate over $1,000,000 annually to support educational initiatives in Ghana and under-resourced communities across the United States.
WMF’s founder, Justin Jones-Fosu, established the foundation in 2023 following several visits to the Ghanaian village where his father was born. The educational and living standard differences between the country’s capital, Accra, and Kumasi were notable, but Justin was also impacted by the warm and positive nature of the village’s residents.

Our work in Ghana, and the hundreds of volunteers and donors that support us, is creating a replicable model for other communities, regardless of the country. We understand that the problems facing large cities and urban areas are very different than those of rural areas. The children in these villages typically count on a familial support system, even if one or more family members have had to leave the village. What they lack are the practical things - access to fresh water, educational resources, financial services, and adequate medical care, among others - that WMF and its volunteers and donors can help to provide.
The next two years (2026 and 2027) will be the most transformative for Akyeremade rural village children. We are in the initial stages of planning the construction of a new elementary school. The village’s elementary school-age children are growing by the year, and their current school is overcrowded and insufficient to accommodate the demand. Moreover, some of the costs associated with attending the school, despite being public, are out of reach for most households.
The 12-classroom elementary school is expected to serve between 200 and 300 students and we will begin construction in 2026. The full cost is expected to be roughly $500,000, and one of the principal initiatives we will hold to not only help to raise funds for the school but also raise awareness for the foundation’s work and important connection to West Africa is the “Trek for Education.”
